Common Terns (all photos by Tom Hanna)
The Common Terns are often seen sitting on the signs that surround the posted area. They are the "guardians of the colony" and will aggressively try to chase off any predators (including people if they get too close!) .
Least Terns and Black Skimmers (photos by Tom Hanna)
There are hundreds of Least Terns nesting on the beach and many chicks have already hatched. The Least Terns and Black Skimmers fill the skies as they bring food back to the nests.

So for now these welcome photographs will have to fill our hearts. Lots of chicks still to be hatched. Lots of action to be played out on the beach. So much to look forward to seeing!!
BUT it is important for each of us to stay healthy and safe until it is reasonable to be out there in person.
The restrictions on beach activities are changing as the town does it best to keep everyone safe.
